About Banana Metals

Banana Metals exists for one reason: to help you get your parts made faster!

Every billet we sell starts life as a bar of high-quality 6061-T6 extruded aluminum. We then cut it to standard size* blocks and ship them directly to your home or shop.

We also offer discounted raw 6061-T6 as "bunches." At our SendCutSend machine shop, we end up with a lot of aluminum blocks with one face roughed or partially machined. We can't use them again in our high-speed automated process, but they're a great fit for a lot of our Banana Metals customers. 

With a quick skim cut to clean up the roughed surface, these billets become solid, flat, fully machinable blocks ready to go to work again. We think these blocks of aluminum deserve a second chance at becoming a part instead of landing in the scrap bin.

Why We Do This

Banana Metals is about keeping good metal in circulation.

Machining aluminum takes energy, time, and resources. When usable material gets scrapped just because it’s not dimensionally perfect, that value is lost. We’d rather see that aluminum turned into jigs, fixtures, prototypes, student projects, and real customer parts than melted down before it reaches its potential. Like a part for a go-kart. That's real potential.

We're not selling reclaimed mystery metal. It’s certified material, from US and Canadian mills. We trust the source, because it comes from our own shop floors.
